AKATEX was founded in the early 1990s. Its genesis is primarily related to the need observed on the market in the field of comprehensive production of specialized clothing, addressed mainly to various types of medical services. From the beginning, the company was headquartered in Bielsko-Biala – a charming city in southern Poland.
Today, AKATEX, constantly developing, with a vibrant history of several years, is a company financed by 100 percent Polish capital.
We are still engaged in the production of specialized and protective clothing addressed to various customers, however, the key production is clothing for medical services; clothing that has been technologically improved over a number of years to fully meet the responsible tasks awaiting it.
Nowadays, a wide range of customers is mainly clothing confectioned with the help of innovative technologies (specialized clothing machines, seam gluing equipment) and equipped with the latest generation of reflective materials. In order to obtain the final product of the best quality, “AKATEX” uses highly specialized machinery and employs a proven, purposefully trained and experienced staff.
We use thermoactive materials, which, due to their physical qualities, are ideal for making this type of clothing, and the guarantee of durability and 100% waterproofness is provided by welded seams (hot glued with specialized equipment).
At the ad hoc request of “AKATEX”, the National Academy of Sciences has carried out a number of laboratory tests, which clearly show that our clothing protects the wearer from infection and provides an effective barrier to pathogenic microorganisms to which emergency services are exposed.
The last quarter of 2003 resulted in the creation of a completely new production line, which is the culmination of long-term substantive cooperation and numerous confrontations on a “customer – manufacturer” basis. “AKATEX” fully adapted a several-piece universal set of specialized clothing to the recommendations and suggestions of the customer, paying attention even to the smallest technological details.
AKATEX 2007
In March our company celebrated its 16th anniversary, and the whole of 2007 was a landmark year for us. Work was underway on the construction of our future headquarters, which was built in the beautiful district of Bielsko-Biala -Wapienica. The new headquarters was built on the basis of professional construction plans that fully take into account the welfare and convenience not only of our employees, but above all of our clients (current and future), and was located very close to the main thoroughfare, which eliminated the hassle of reaching the company.
Akatex moved into spacious, modern and fully adapted interiors already in autumn 2007. An interesting solution was the external ramp, eliminating the previous problems with delivery and transportation, and the complete absence of any architectural barriers that had hitherto been a hindrance to work.
BIG EVENT 2008
On May 15, our company moved into its new headquarters at 40 Wypoczynkowa Street in the district of Bielsko-Biała -Wapienica . It took only 10 months to build a functional production building of the highest standards in the place where the symbolic first shovel was driven in. We now work in spacious, modern interiors. The production part – from the cutting room, through the sewing room and finishing room – characterized by the highest European standards.
The office area is spacious and comfortable, and a special external ramp facilitates the forwarding of goods.
The entire building is adapted for people with disabilities, as we aimed for our company to obtain the status of a sheltered workshop. Our desire was that people with disabilities could become professionally active and work in specially adapted conditions. On March 20, 2009 AKATEX celebrated its 18th anniversary. For many years, we have been guided by the same goals, among which are opening up to the customer and improving the clothing we offer.
2010
As of October 18, 2010, the new Regulation of the Minister of Health regarding the designation of State Medical Rescue and requirements for uniforms for members of the medical rescue team took effect. In connection with this, our company has created a new collection of Perfekt clothing – in the new applicable colors, completely in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation.
20 years of AKATEX (May 20, 2011)
This year was special for us, as we celebrated our 20th anniversary. Taking the opportunity of the signing of the Ordinance of the Minister of Health on October 18, 2010 regarding the designation of State Medical Rescue and the requirements for uniforms for members of the medical rescue team, we have prepared SUPER PROMOTIONS for our customers on our website and during ongoing events related to medical rescue.

2012
On June 18 this year, our company changed its headquarters from Wapienica, located on the border of Bielsko and Jaworzno, to the center of Bielsko-Biała. We are now located on a street close to the main traffic routes (bus station, railway station), which makes it easier and faster to reach us – even without a car. Therefore, from June we invite you to shop at our new location at 34 Słowackiego Street.
