From August 30 to September 4, 2010, the 1st European Championships in Medical Rescue took place in Olsztyn . “The idea of organizing the 1st European Championships in Medical Rescue in Olsztyn was to promote medical rescue, good practices and safe behavior in traffic and to promote the country, the region and the city of Olsztyn.” The organizers of the Championship were : Ministry of Health, Local Government of Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and Provincial Ambulance Station in Olsztyn
About 40 crews took part in the competition. Mainly teams from European countries (Ukraine, Russia, Slovakia, Estonia,Slovenia, Germany , Greece, Czech Republic, Lithuania, France ,Malta, Poland) and as a guest were invited teams from outside Europe (USA) .The competition was held in Olsztyn: in the city center and on the grounds of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Kortow.
Championships in Medical Rescue is a good opportunity to take a close look at the work of paramedics and ambulance crews.
In addition to the medical competition, the organizers have prepared many attractions such as: Rescue demonstrations, lecture panels, sightseeing tours, exhibitions of medical equipment and rescue clothing, in which our company also took an active part.
On the podium at the 1st European Championships in Medical Rescue in Olsztyn stood:
1. WSPR “Meditrans” Warsaw
2. Provincial Ambulance Service Katowice Station Katowice
3. Medical Center “Olmedica” Sp. z o.o Olecko
Fourth place was won by a team from Mater Dei Hospital in Malta and thus became the best foreign team.
