II Championship in Medical Rescue for the Cup of the President of Falck Medycyna

On 30-31.08.2013 in Przeworsk and in the municipalities of Gać and Kańczuga, the 3rd Medical Rescue Championship for the cup of the President of Falck Medycyna took place. The competition was attended by 20 teams from three countries.
The competition for the first time had an open character, which means that two-person teams of any medical rescue operator in Europe could participate. In the previous two years, the Championship was an internal Falck competition. Fifteen Falck Medycyna ambulances, a team from RM Meditrans Siedlce and two crews representing the Hospital Emergency Department of the MSWiA Hospital in Olsztyn turned up at the start of the Championship. Falck rescuers from Denmark and Slovakia also arrived.
Twelve competitions were held over the two days of the Championship, including two simulations of mass accidents: a collision between two trains and an accident on an inflatable slide for children. In addition, rescuers had to, among other things, provide assistance to an organist who had fainted in church, resuscitate a newborn baby, help a diabetic farmer or act at the scene of a collision between a combine harvester and a car. The organizers also envisioned resuscitating a child who had drowned, helping a mechanic whose car engine crushed a limb, and assisting a carpentry worker whose tooth from a circular saw pierced his lung.
