I Championship in Medical Rescue – Ukraine
3 July 2008On June 19, 2008, the 4th Polish Championships in Medical and Road Rescue of Entities Creating and Supporting the National Rescue and Firefighting System began in Kurów. The competition ended on June 22. Once again, it turned out that goodwill combined with the persistence and enthusiasm of the organizers and participants, can turn a competition into a holiday. People for whom rescue is a passion come together, and the desire to acquire skills in this field becomes the axis of action.
The number of crews, the number of tasks, and the duration of the Championship have all increased, which shows how necessary it is. The tasks varied in difficulty, but certainly covered a very wide range of rescue problems. Car accidents, accidents on the water, in the woods, on a rural farm, were just some of the tasks the teams had to face. And most made the right decisions. This indicates the ever-increasing level of training of rescuers.
In this year’s edition of the competition 62 crews competed, including 4 foreign crews. Among them were crews representing: Volunteer Fire Departments, State Fire Departments, Mountain Volunteer Ambulance Service, Polish Red Cross, ambulance services, health care facilities and scout organizations.
New to this year’s edition is the introduction of a separate track for crews competing in the ALS category (with a doctor, nurse or paramedic on the crew), the duration of the competition has been extended to 4 days, and the number of competing crews has been increased to 62.
