25 February 2008
I Beskidzkie Integrated Exercises of Rescue Services (28-30.03.2008)
2 April 2008The Winter Symposium on Emergency Medicine was held in Karpacz from 04.03-08.03.2008, organized by the President of the Polish Society of Emergency Medicine, Prof. Juliusz Jakubaszko, MD. As in previous years, the Symposium had the character of an international scientific and training conference with numerous European, American and Polish lecturers.
On the rally route there were off-road tests to test the driver’s and team’s ability to navigate difficult terrain. During the special stage there was a stand where the team solved a medical problem task.
The ambulance crews had difficult tasks. The route of the rally ran in Kamienna Góra District among forests in quarries and marshes. The ambulances had to overcome snow-covered hills at an altitude of more than 900 meters above sea level. The rescuers demonstrated skills such as changing a wheel, pulling a stretcher with IVs by car and putting on snow chains. Crews from Wroclaw, Jelenia Gora, Lublin, Ostrów Wielkopolski and Bielsko-Biała took part in the rally.
The winner was the crew from the Ambulance Service in Wroclaw – substation W-6 (greetings to all participants and especially to Martyna Kubica).
